The Lewisburg Recreation Center is a 70,000 sqft facility located on 81 acres. We have 2 basketball courts with a 1/12 mile elevated walking track above. Just outside of our gymnasium is our pro-shop/snack bar, which accommodates both the gym participants as well as our golfers that are taking advantage of the Ewell Butler Golf Course. This city owned golf course is a par 36, 9 hole course. It has 4 sets of tees 2,887 yards, and a practice range.
We have two meeting rooms. Our large meeting room will seat up to 300 participants. It is equipped with a sound system with wireless microphones, audio/video system with projector, and internet access. Our small meeting room will hold up to 50 occupants and has internet access. Both rooms each have a kitchen for catering purposes.
Our fitness room comes complete with treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bikes, various weight machines, and free weights. We have a large aerobics room and 2 racquetball/walleyball courts.
To integrate the inside with the outside, this facility maintains 4 swimming pools. The natatorium consist of a 120,000 gallon 6 Lane Lap Pool, 20,000 gallon Therapy Pool, and a 2,000 gallon spa. These are open year around. Beginning Memorial Day our outside pool (300,000 gallons) opens for the summer.
Outside accommodations that are also at this park include, 5 tennis courts, 1/2 mile paved track, Exploration Station playground, a sand volleyball court, restrooms, and 2 covered picnic shelters.
